Data Sources

Every rate, fee, and ranking on BankCheap comes from a source we can point to. Here's where our data comes from and how often it's refreshed.

Overview

We combine provider-published product data with authoritative U.S. public datasets. We do not invent rates. When a number on BankCheap looks different from the provider's site, the provider's site is the source of truth — please report it so we can correct it.

Affiliate partners

Some outbound links on BankCheap are affiliate links — if you open an account through them, we may earn a commission at no cost to you. Affiliate status does not influence rankings, scores, or how products appear in calculator results. See the Methodology page for how rankings are produced.

User-submitted data

When users report errors or submit information about a product (e.g. a fee change), we verify against the provider's published terms before updating the catalog. Unverified submissions are not published.
